Thumbs up Goal Setting Website for Teens

Hi, I've been working on a new project, an free online goal setting application for young people. It's in BETA meaning testing phase.

Last year I was thinking, don't you think it's strange that we go through life encouraged to educate ourselves, learn new skills, yet the one skill few of us ever learn is the skill of mapping out our life plan?

To date I've not found any website specific to guiding young people through the goal setting process.

I'd really appreciate some feedback from the users of this forum.
Your thoughts on using this website in a classroom setting.

TeenDo is Specific to young people but you can see examples of how it works on the How it Works link and also check out Add link.

A bit about me. I've worked on and off for Melbourne Citymission (Australia) for 6 years most recently at Slingshot www.slingshot.org.au

Thanks in advance

Brendan

Red face Teen Goals

What a great idea, I'm the anxious-to-see-her-only-child-graduate-mother of an almost 17 year-old-I-keep-failing-my-classes-but-expect-to-do-well-in-college-son!

I'm working with him right now to set goals, make up 5 classes in the next year and a half, and feel like a huge NAG!

A tool like this would be invaluable to parent of teens, and teens entering high school.

If you have any ideas, I'm all ears.

Default Goal Setting and Success Website Already Exists

Check out www.growthco.com. It's a free goal setting and success website I created for kids with free HD videos and forms to download for free! There is also a membership option that allows young people to identify, store, and manage their goals online; complete with a success course, online calendar, and communication/access feature that ensures teachers, parents, young people, and others are all on the same page!

Default I can relate

Kelly,

I can definitely relate to son who thinks he'll do fine in college as he fails major courses in high school. I agree that a goal-setting program would be extremely helpful!

You may want to check out http://www.GoalsOnTrack.com, a very nicely built web app designed for tracking goals and todo lists, and has time tracking. It's clear, focused, easy to navigate, worth a try.

Default Goal Setting

Do you have a Career Specialist at your school? I am a Global Career Development Facilitator/Instructor. I work at our local high school. I thought that all schools had career specialist. There is a huge amount of information on goal setting. I would be more than happy to share my lesson plans. My email address is sarao@darlington.k12.sc.us.

Goal setting and career like objectives have become more important now a days when our children face more stiff competition while entering into their professional fields. Thanks for referring the site. I like to make the kids creative and expressive. They should know the application of their skill.
